Our Beliefs

Doctrinal Position

Contained in this document are the Declarations of Doctrinal beliefs and practices of “New Vision Christian Ministries Int’l.” It is intended to give our beloved guests and members of New Vision a general understanding of our basic doctrine.

Repentance

We believe in repentance to God, confessing ourselves as sinners, receiving forgiveness through the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood atonement for sinners. Witnessed by righteousness. (Acts 17:30, 11:18, 2:38-39)

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit should be manifested in the church today and that all Spirit-filled believers should earnestly covet the best gifts for the edification and up-building of the church. These gifts allow for greater intimacy with God, who gives us power for accomplishing His work in the world today. (1 Cor. 12:8-11, 14:1)

Scriptures

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, infallible in its original writings. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is God’s Word for all mankind. (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:21)

Our Redemption

We believe our redemption has been accomplished solely by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ who was made sin for us. We believe he died on the cross, arose from the dead, and ascended with his glorified body to the right hand of God. By this finished work, we are justified before God, cleansed of all our sins and redeemed from the curse of the law. (John 3:3, Rom 5:1, Acts 13:39, 2 Cor. 5:14-21, Gal. 2:16, 3:13, 1 Pet. 1:18-19, Titus 2:14), Rev. 5:9)

Fruit of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Spirit-filled believer will produce good fruit; in turn, the Spirit within their lives and their walk will be an example of Godliness and holy living: Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance. (Gal. 5:22-23, 1 John 2:6, 1 Pet. 1:16, Titus 2:11-13, 2 Cor. 7:1)

The Godhead

We believe in one ever living, eternal God. Infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes, purpose, and in His indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed himself as father in creation, through his son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit by emanation. (I Cor. 8:6, Eph. 4:6, 2 Cor. 5:19, Joel 2:28)

Water Baptism

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers, obtained by obedience (Acts 2:38-39 & 5:31-32), by asking (Luke 11:13), evidenced by the manifestation of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This is a distinct, separate and subsequent experience to conversion; it has been a normal Christian experience since Pentecost.

Second Coming of Christ

We believe that Jesus is coming again in person just as He went away. This was clearly set forth by the Lord Jesus Christ himself; it was preached and taught in the early Christian church by the apostles. Hence the children of God today are looking forward to this glorious event (Matt. 24, Acts 1:11, 3:19-21, 1 Cor.11:26, Phil. 3:20 & Thess. 4:14-17). We believe there shall be a great tribulation which shall be followed by a better day on earth, and that for one thousand years there will be peace on earth and good will toward men. (Is. 65:17-25, Dan. 7:27, Heb 2:14, Rom. 11:25-27, Rev. 20:1-5)

The Son of God

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. In the fullness of time, God sent forth his son, born of a woman, subjected to the law, to redeem those that were under the law. (Gal. 4:4-5) On him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col. 2:9). That God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself (2 Cor. 5:19), that no man can come unto the Father but by and through the Lord Jesus Christ and his shed blood. That the Son of God is the only hope of the world. The man Christ Jesus is mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers, obtained by obedience (Acts 2:38-39 & 5:31-32), by asking (Luke 11:13), evidenced by the manifestation of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This is a distinct, separate and subsequent experience to conversion; it has been a normal Christian experience since Pentecost.

Final Judgment

We believe there will be a great and final judgment as recorded in the Word of God. The scriptures (Heb. 9:27 & Rev. 20:11-15) states that this is the judgment of the unjust where all the wicked are judged. All those whose names are not found written in the book of Life shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, burning with brimstone, which God has prepared for the Devil and his angels. Satan himself being cast in first. (Matt. 25:4, Rev. 20:7,-15, 21:8)

The Fall of Man

We believe that in the beginning God created man, innocent and pure and holy, but through disobedience, Adam fell, hence by one man’s disobedience, sin entered the world. (Gen. 1:27, Rom. 5:12)

Communion

We believe that all followers should partake in communion (Lord’s Supper) in remembrance of His death until He comes again. (Luke 22:19-20, Matt. 26:26-28, 1 Cor. 11:23-34)

Tithes and Offerings

We believe tithing is God’s financial plan to provide for His work. Tithing came with faith under Abraham; Moses law enjoined it. Israel practiced it when she was right with God, and Jesus endorsed it. (Matt. 23:23, Mal. 3)
